Destination Rural

RDASA is committed to seeing a dynamic, South Australian rural health workforce and recognises the attraction to rural practice lies with our junior doctors. RDASA sets out to deliver a number of unique events each year under 'Destination Rural' to promote rural practice to a new generation of rural generalists.

Farmageddon

12 April 2025

On the move this year, we were excited to travel to Mannum and present Farmageddon to local students and junior doctors. It was a jam-packed, hands-on rural emergencies workshop, featuring a variety of 'not your usual' clinical skills stations that dealt with the management of emergency medicine situations – something that junior doctors don’t often have an opportunity to do in a pre-hospital setting. We also spent time answering questions regarding a career in Rural Generalism and why it's a career of choice.

A huge shout out to our facilitators Dr Scott Lewis, Dr Tim Leeuwenburg, Dr Bill Geyer, Dr Simon Craddock and Dr Ian Bricher. Our incredible CFS volunteers. And our Farm hosts Dr Sonia Schutz and Farmer/CFS Team Leader Terry Schutz.

Look out for Farmageddon the Sequel in 2026!
